PBA Tip of the Day brought to you by Justin Simons, Agent with State Farm Justin R Simons Agency, Inc (623) 551-3700.
What should you keep in mind to help prevent kitchen house fires during this holiday season? Justin has the answer!
Don’t give fire a chance!
Keep appliances, stove tops, and ovens clean and in working condition, free of accumulated food, dust, or grease. Make sure to follow all manufacturer’s guidelines for kitchen equipment and appliances.
Never leave or store rags, towels, or paper items near the stove or other heat-generating surfaces.
Always have a fire extinguisher on hand, as well as a box of baking soda for grease or oil fires.
Don’t ever walk out of the kitchen and leave heating pots and pans unattended.
Make sure appliance cords aren’t frayed or melted. Don’t overload kitchen outlets with too many plugs, and keep electrical appliances away from water. For more home protection tips, give Justin a call today!
